In 1891, the Matos family moved from Portugal to the wild region of Minas Gerais in Brazil. The concept of Cachaca terroir is relatively new, and in this case comes in the form of 100 year old plantations that grow at a high altitude - resulting in a spirit that is incredibly focussed, clean and delicate. Unlike the vast amount of Cachaca produced in Brazil, ZECA is 100% grown, distilled and matured on the estate, in a traditional and sustainable method. The sugar cane is protected by indigenous anteaters - which are depicted on the brands label. Perfectly balanced with hints of dark wood, spice and exotic floral notes, ZECA de Matos Cachaca makes the superb base for a traditional Caipirinha cocktail. Alternatively, serve chilled with Sicilian lemonade, ginger beer or simply on the rocks with a twist of lemon.40% ABV

The first ever anejo tequila produced by Patron, this renowned spirit is made from 100% weber blue agave grown in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. American and French oak casks are used to mature the tequila, which is aged for a minimum of 3 years for a rich and balanced taste. Sweet, yet complex notes of agave, vanilla and mushroom dance on the palate, whilst the finish is smooth and long-lasting.40% ABV

Another first for Fortnums, our very own cask of Patron has been selected from the exclusive Barrel Select reserves at Casa Patron, Jalisco, Mexico - from which just 378 individually numbered bottles are available.Cask No. 52, a combination of both American and French Oak, was selected for bottling. It strikes the perfect balance between natural, lightly earthy, herbal tones of the cooked Blue Weber Agave from which Tequila is distilled - and the balancing influence of vanilla sweetness from American Oak with softly spiced tannins from the French.Incredible aromas of roasted tropical fruits and smoky vanilla precede a long palate of raw honey, cooked agave, lime, pineapple and fresh herbs - all wrapped up in vanilla cashews. Two delicious reds collide in this wonderful wine pairing of two continents. Expressive, complex and multi-layered, our exclusive Argentinian Malbec, from Pulenta Estate in the Lujan de Cuyo region of Mendoza is a must for lovers of rich ripe reds. It is elegant and perfectly poised with a fresh mineral edge harnessed from being sourced at 980 metres above sea level. An outstanding example of Argentinas most prized grape variety, this Malbec is bursting with notes of chocolate, spice and blackberry, whilst the extended ageing in French oak barrels adds a polished, vanillin finish.Completing the set is our Saint-Emilion, produced for us by Chateau Faurie de Souchard, from the hallowed right bank of Bordeaux. It is a classic expression, sourced from a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, and displays rich cassis fruit and soft silky tannins.
